Bonner Springs is a pleasant town and hosts the Wyandotte County Historical Museum, which is a good starting point. The museum has a balance of permanent and temporary exhibitions that demonstrate the history of the area. It's also home to a renaissance festival, a public golf course, and a zipline recreation area. When dinner time rolls around, Bonner Springs has a selection of inexpensive and reasonably priced restaurants; you'll find Chinese, Mexican, and barbecue venues, pub and family restaurants, and much more.

Edwardsville is also a good destination for getting a bite to eat, with pizzerias and steakhouses and a balance of commercial and privately owned establishments. You can take some time to relax here while stocking up on supplies and gassing up your rig.
